2008 Season - Week 14

Three Teams In

Congratulations to the Arizona Cardinals (8-5) who beat St Louis and so won the NFC West. It is their first Division title in 33 years and they will host their first home play-off game since 1947 when they were still based in Chicago. Tennessee (12-1) also clinched their division ending the streak of 5 straight AFC South crowns for Indianapolis and despite their home loss to Philadelphia the New York Giants (11-2) clinched the NFC East when Dallas fell to Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh are currently in the number 2 spot for the AFC playoffs with a 10-3 record. Number 3 is Denver (8-5) and The NY Jets (8-5) are currently the 4th division winner. At the moment the wildcard teams are 5 seed Indianapolis (9-4) and 6 seed Baltimore (9-4). Still in the hunt are Miami (8-5), New England (8-5), Buffalo (6-7), Houston (6-7) & amazingly at 5-8 San Diego (who can still win the AFC West). Eliminated are Cleveland, Jacksonville, Oakland, Kansas City and Cincinnati. In the NFC Carolina (10-3) are the 2 seed behind The Giants with Minnesota (8-5) 3 and Arizona (8-5) the 4th seed. Wildcards currently are 5 seed Tampa Bay (9-4) and 6 seed Dallas (8-5). Atlanta are also 8-5. Other teams still in the hunt are Philadelphia (7-5-1), Washington, Chicago and New Orleans all at 7-6. Eliminated are Green Bay, San Francisco, Seattle, St Louis and Detroit. Three Weeks To Go The BUMS Premiership is beginning to take shape with Wayne in command of his chase for an unprecidented third Papas Fritas trophy. He currently has a 52 point lead over Dave G who is in a battle for the runners-up spot with Chief just 3 points behind him. Also chasing the podium are Andy H (14 behind Chief), Johnny (3 behind H) and Mark H a further 2 points back. AP is looking over his shoulder, not quite safe yet as he sits 33 points above the drop-zone. However much more concerned is recently inducted Hall of Famer Mark B who is just 4 points from safety though he did pass Daz to move out of the relegation zone this week. Cheryl outscored Daz by 16 and Mark by 9 points this week and she is now just 15 points behind Mark, but Ron looks to be in serious trouble standing 37 points from safety. Things are more fluid in the Conference as Marcus was standing second at one point during the weekend and going into the Monday Night Game David S led John by 4 with Aaron just 2 back, however strong games from John (18 points) and David S (12) have seen them re-instate their aurthority. John is now 2 ahead of Stampy who is 18 ahead of Aaron in the final promotion place. Marcus is 15 points behind his brother with George just 4 more behind. BUMS on Seats.
